Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Account Manager to join our Business Management team. The ideal candidate will bring over ten years of accounting and bookkeeping experience within the Business Management industry, along with a strong track record of professionalism, integrity, and client service. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Word, and the ability to stay highly organized in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day communications and handling requests, inquiries, and special projects (e.g., asset purchases).
- Prepare, review, and maintain financial statements, including general ledger coding and upkeep.
- Record and track investments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and manage accounts receivable and payable, including deposits and bill payments through Datafaction/DF Imaging/AgilLink.
- Oversee payroll processing, 1099 reporting, business license registrations/renewals, and sales/use tax filings.
- Prepare and submit guild reporting.
- Support insurance and benefits administration, including medical claims, non-medical insurance requirements, pension plan administration, and life insurance/insurance trusts (familiarity required).
- Maintain organized records through document scanning and secure digital filing.
- Supervise and mentor assistant(s), providing guidance and oversight.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support clients and the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of business management and/or bookkeeping experience (Business Management industry experience strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration a plus.
- Proficiency in Datafaction/DF Imaging and AgilLink required; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data management tools. Experience with Microsoft Teams preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaborative team player with proven experience supervising and mentoring staff.
Working Conditions:
Professional office environment. Working inside, sitting, standing. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs. Hybrid requirement with more time expected in-office during the first 90-days for training.
Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
