About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer to deploy and support Kubernetes-based systems across both cloud and on-site environments. In this role, you’ll build and maintain infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Bicep, while ensuring system reliability, observability, and security. You’ll travel to deployment sites to help set up and troubleshoot on-premise environments and work closely with engineers, product managers, and mission operators to integrate APIs, microservices, and data systems, while translating real-world deployment feedback into platform improvements.
Deploy and support Kubernetes environments in cloud and on-site environments
Travel to deployment sites to support the setup of on-site k8s deployments Ensure system reliability, observability, and compliance through monitoring and alerting
Communication of feedback and deployment issues to the development team to support deployments in isolated environments
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform or BicepIntegrate with secure APIs and microservices in languages like C#, Python, and Node.js
Integrate with third-party systems and mission data sources (REST, gRPC, message queues)Deploy, manage, and maintain relational and non-relational databases
Collaborate with designers and users to build intuitive UIs for complex workflowsWork closely with product managers, mission operators, and fellow engineers
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and agile planning sessions
Contribute to technical decision-making, prototyping, and long-term system design
Debugging infrastructure as code and k8s deployments in isolated environments with remote support from the engineering team
Active Secret Clearance (at minimum)
This position requires travel for around 25% of the work
Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
Strong experience with DevOps practices, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Proficiency in a modern backend language (C#, Python, Node.js, etc.)
Experience with modern frontend frameworks (Blazor, React, Angular, or Vue)
Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt)
Knowledge of secure coding practices and basic cybersecurity principles
Experience with C#, specifically in the ASP.NET Web API and Blazor frameworks
Experience with gRPC in .NETAzure or GCP certifications
Prior experience in the defense or national security sector
Experience with real-time systems, geospatial data, or sensor integration
Exposure to compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, etc.)
Experience working at an early-stage startup or on small agile teams
Salary + ($140,000 - $160,000) + Equity
Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
