Job Summary:The Director, Financial Planning UHNW takes a leading role in driving the success of financial planning at Mercer Advisors by maintaining unified financial planning processes, and training on this process. In addition, this role leads a team of advanced planners that delivers financial planning, including training and oversight.
Essential Job Functions for this role include:Develop and maintain unified financial planning processes that drives efficiency for client service teams dedicated to UHNW clients at Mercer Advisors.Oversee the day-to-day activities, training and developing members of the centralized Financial Planning Group.Collect, codify, and disseminate best practices related to financial planning production.Develop and maintain “playbook” on development and delivery of financial plans to create maximum efficiency and ease of delivery for client service.Proactively modify internal systems to support and enhance the financial planning experience.Lead and mentor team of planners on delivering financial plans, including overseeing day-to-day tasks, training, time management, coaching, and mentoring.Cultivate superior relationships with wealth management team members in support of the financial planning process specific to UHNW clients.Develop and maintain training programs for wealth management teams on how to deliver financial planning, and tools to use for effective delivery.Stay informed of evolving industry trends, regulations, and planning issues, and communicate relevant changes to the organization.Create visibility for Mercer Advisors regarding financial planning by producing collateral, being a thought leader within the company as well as in the industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor’s degree required10+ years of successful experience in the financial services industryCFP® (Certified Financial Planning) designation required. Additional credentials preferred.Ability to create content and deliverables in high volume, fast-paced environmentsTrack record of success with ultra-high net worth clients and complex financial planning situationsExperience determining the needs of advisors, partners and prospects through investigative questions, offering solutions and asking for the right actions.Proficiency in public speaking, to clients, prospective clients, and advisors, including large groups.Successful track record of creating and implementing new programs and ideas across the organization.Deep understanding of the financial planning profession and a forward-looking mindsetSkilled understanding of the business development environment, including channel partnersComprehensive industry, financial planning, and investment management knowledgeExcellent communication, presentation, listening and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail, and exceptional follow throughStrong computer aptitude with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPointEstablished and active industry network
Work Schedule:This professional role requires availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Working Conditions:Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a workstation, no heavy lifting over 20 lbs. Travel assumed up to 10% of the time.

Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
