We’re seeking a Principal Product Manager to join Core Experience, working in the What to Play product area, focused on helping users explore and decide what to play on Spotify. This space powers some of Spotify’s most important discovery surfaces, including Home, Browse, and Search, along with the components that bring personalized recommendations to life across the app. We also look after our agentic interfaces such as agent chat and experience of prompting your Spotify experience. As a Principal Product Manager, you’ll operate across these surfaces and systems, shaping how discovery and agentic experiences work end-to-end and influencing strategy across multiple squads and product areas.
Define and drive the long-term product vision for how users explore and decide what to play on Spotify
Shape discovery experiences across key consumer surfaces such as Home, Browse, and Search
Lead cross-surface strategy that connects personalized recommendations, editorial context, and user intent into a cohesive journey
Partner with engineering, design, and data science to evolve scalable discovery platforms and components used across Spotify
Identify opportunities to reduce decision friction and make exploration feel effortless and engaging
Influence roadmap and priorities across multiple teams, ensuring alignment with broader consumer experience strategy
Use experimentation, behavioral data, & user insights to inform strategy & continuously improve outcomes
Act as a senior product leader, mentoring others and raising the bar for product thinking, clarity, and impact
You have 10+ years of product management experience working on consumer-facing products
You have experience owning or influencing large product areas that span multiple teams or surfaces
You have a deep understanding of discovery, search, or personalization systems
You know how to turn complex systems into simple, intuitive user experiences
You are comfortable leading through influence in highly cross-functional environments
You care deeply about product craft and building high-quality user experiences at scale
You use data, experimentation, and judgment to guide decisions and strategy
You are a strong collaborator who builds alignment across engineering, design, and data partners
This role is based in New York, NY.
We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
The United States base range for this position is $182,309.00- 260,441.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future
