Your Role
As a Hands-On Engineering Manager in the Customer Journey (Growth) team at RoomPriceGenie, you’ll lead a small team of 3 engineers focused on improving how hoteliers discover value in our platform: from activation and onboarding to feature adoption and long-term engagement.
This role is ideal for an early-career Engineering Manager or an exceptional Senior, Staff or Tech Lead engineer ready to step into a formal leadership role .
You’ll guide the team’s execution, support engineers in their growth, and stay technically engaged through code reviews, architectural discussions, pairing and coding contributions.
Working closely with a Product Manager and a Senior Engineering Manager , you’ll translate growth opportunities into product outcomes, helping the team ship experiments, iterate quickly and continuously improve the user journey.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach and support asmall multidisciplinary team of engineersworking across backend and frontend systems.
- Drive initiatives that improveuser activation, onboarding, feature adoption and retention.
- Foster a culture ofownership, testing and quality, ensuring features are reliable, scalable and measurable.
- Help the team deliverexperiments and product improvements, from ideation through production and iteration.
- Providetechnical guidance and mentorship, helping engineers grow in system design, architecture and cross-stack collaboration.
- Staytechnically engagedthrough code reviews, architectural discussions, pairing and direct coding contributions.
- Improveengineering processes and team practicesto increase clarity, alignment and delivery velocity.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to ensure solutions areuser-centered and data-informed.
- Championexperimentation and measurement, ensuring the team has the right feedback loops to evaluate product impact.
Your Profile
- Strong experience as aSoftware Engineer, with a proven track record building and operating production systems.
- Experienceleading engineers or projects(for example as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer or Engineering Manager).
- 1–2 years of formal people management experience is a plus, but not required.
- ExceptionalSenior, Staff or Tech Lead engineerswith a strong track record of technical leadership and mentorship are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable stayingtechnically involvedwhile leading a team.
- Strong understanding ofsystem design, architecture and engineering best practices.
- Strongproduct mindset:you enjoy collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers to define problems, validate solutions and measure outcomes.
- Experience working inproduct-driven SaaS or product growth environmentsis a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills: you create clarity, trust and accountability within the team.
- You bring aservant leadership mindset: empathetic, organized and motivated by helping others succeed.
- Fluent in English and based in theEuropean time zone (UTC+0 to UTC+2).
