The Desktop & Core DX group is responsible for Docker Desktop along with the components that developers touch daily, including Compose, CLI, Engine, Testcontainers, and more.
In this role, you will manage the Coding Agent Sandboxes team , which builds secure, isolated execution environments that allow AI coding agents to run autonomously without compromising user systems or data.
This work is systems-heavy and safety-critical, with a strong emphasis on isolation boundaries, correctness, and failure modes. You will lead an established team of senior engineers and be accountable for the reliability and operational excellence of these environments in production.
Responsibilities
- Management of engineers distributed across Europe and the US.
- Align the team with business and product goals by working closely with product management.
- Ensure predictable delivery and operational excellence of the components the teams ship.
- Facilitate communication across teams and status reporting for critical projects.
- Hire and retain talent.
- Hold a high bar for engineering excellence.
Role Requirements
- Must becurrently located in the US: Eastern time zone.
- 5+ years of experience directly managing high-performing engineering teams. Additional 5+ years of professional experience as an IC software engineer.
- Additional 5+ years of professional experience as an IC software engineer.
- Strong background insystems, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- Proven professional experience leading teams working oncomplex, safety-critical, or reliability-focused systems.
- Ability to reason aboutisolation, security boundaries, and failure modesin production systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in adistributed, cross-time-zoneenvironment.

- Work with the teams to improve their processes.
- Attend a customer call.
- Oversee the delivery of a change or feature.
- Started hiring for the team (if needed).
One Year Outlook (First Year)
- Been involved in driving the long term direction of the team.
- Have had a sustained, positive impact on reports.
