Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire (you?!) this role does require that you are based within +3/ -3 UTC.

As a Senior Treasury Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and scalable payment operations across Oyster’s global platform. You’ll bring a deep understanding of payment flows, reconciliation, and operational controls, and will be trusted as the go-to payments expert across Payroll, Corporate Accounting, and Product.

This is a hands-on role with real impact: you’ll not only execute and oversee payment processes, but also design, improve, and automate them as we scale. You’ll help transform complex, multi-source payment data into clear, reliable reconciliations and dashboards that enable confident decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute global payroll paymentsOwn the end-to-end processing of payroll payments for internal and external global employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Prepare and execute bulk paymentsManage high-volume payment runs across multiple payment methods and providers, ensuring appropriate approvals, controls, and audit readiness.
  • Own payment reconciliationsAccurately review, reconcile, and record payment data across multiple sources, ensuring completeness and integrity within the accounting system.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot payment issuesInvestigate and resolve payment failures, respond to payment-related inquiries, and work proactively to prevent repeat issues.
  • Manage payment escalationsCoordinate closely with internal teams (Payroll, Accounting, Product) and external vendors or banking partners to resolve complex or time-sensitive payment issues.
  • Improve and automate payment processesIdentify inefficiencies in existing workflows and recommend or implement process improvements and automation to increase accuracy, speed, and scalability.
  • Build visibility and reportingPartner with stakeholders to create robust reconciliation frameworks and tracking dashboards that provide clear visibility into payment volumes, statuses, and exceptions.

Core Requirements

  • Proven expertise in global payments operations, including multi-currency handling, cross-border compliance, and high-volume reconciliation.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Payments Operations, Treasury, or Finance Operations, ideally in a fast-scaling SaaS or technology-driven company.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end payment flows, reconciliations, financial controls, and operational risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with payment automation, process optimization, and workflow improvement.
  • Strong data fluency: ability to analyze complex datasets and present actionable insights to leadership.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills with Payroll, Accounting, Product, and external partners.
  • Operational leadership mindset: ability to identify workflow friction, implement improvements, and guide teams through change.
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness, including audit readiness and knowledge of global payment regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and organizational skills, with attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Solid technical proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets (advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
  • Experience with ERP or Treasury Management systems (e.g., NetSuite, TMS)
  • Familiarity with payment platforms, automation tools, or workflow optimization solutions
  • Exposure to predictive payment failure detection or automated reconciliation tools
  • Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews related to payments
