VP of Environmental Care

We are currently seeking a VP of Environmental Care to join our team of highly qualified professionals that share our vision of Empowering Children to Conquer their World! This role is responsible for providing executive leadership and strategic direction for the organization’s environmental services, sustainability, safety, and regulatory compliance programs. They ensure all facilities and operations meet or exceed environmental, health, safety, and cleanliness standards while advancing sustainability goals and supporting organizational mission, brand reputation, and operational excellence. The VP of Environmental Care will collaborate with senior leadership to integrate environmental care into long-term strategy, risk management, and performance outcomes.

What you will do :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive environmental care and sustainability strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the executive authority on environmental services, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee environmental services functions, which may include housekeeping, sanitation, waste management, infection prevention support, landscaping, and facilities cleanliness.
  • Establish performance metrics, quality standards, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure efficient staffing models, budgeting, and resource allocation across all sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations (local, state, and federal).
  • Lead inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Track and report environmental performance.
  • Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts and outsourced services.
  • Drive cost containment while maintaining high standards of care and safety.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental stewardship.

Education/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Facilities Management, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in environmental services, facilities management, sustainability, or related operations.
  • 5+ years in a senior or executive leadership role.
  • Experience managing large, multi-site operations, preferred.

Skills/ Abilities:

  • Strong executive leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of environmental regulations, safety standards, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead change and drive organizational improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards governing environmental care.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Ability to work under stress and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a complex matrix organization.
  • Ability to represent the company in a confident, persuasive, and positive manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Travel will be required.

Physical Demands:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
