We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.Where and how you can workOur flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals. The position will be located in San Francisco, so please note you will need to be currently based in SF or if you wish to relocate please advise this in your application. What you’d be doing in this roleAs Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.Tech & Product Finance owns the economics of Canva's technical engine, the infrastructure, cloud, compute, GPU and AI investments that power our products and increasingly define our cost base and margin profile. As Canva becomes an AI-native company, these are the fastest-growing and most strategically important lines on the P&L.Within that, the Technology & Infrastructure team owns the finance seat around how Canva is built and run: the compute, storage and infrastructure that keeps the product running for hundreds of millions of users. Hosting is the single biggest cost lever we steward, and it's one of the fastest-moving: new AI workloads, new negotiation cycles and new savings mechanisms show up almost every quarter. We partner closely with Infra, Platform, Procurement and FinOps leadership to make sure every dollar of hosting spend is understood, forecast well and actively optimised.Hosting is getting more complex as workloads scale with AI and organic growth, chargeback rolls out and new negotiation cycles come up. This role is the hybrid finance analyst and data analyst that keeps the spend understood, trusted and well forecasted. You'll sit alongside AI and non-AI hosting spend analysts, owning the data layer that both lean on, and partnering with Accounting and technical accounting on the methodologies that split hosting spend across the P&L. Your work gives Finance Business Partners the confidence to lift the numbers straight into strategic analysis, without worrying whether the data holds up. If you enjoy cloud cost data and turning complex data sets into something people can action and confidently rely on, this role is for you.At the moment, this role is focused on:You'll get the hosting data reconciled across all our centralised cloud hosting vendor bill line items, so our AI and non-AI FP&A partners can confidently take the numbers and focus on strategic analysis, knowing the data is sound. You'll own the R&D reclass (COGS vs non-COGS) and free reclass (AI vs non-AI) methodologies in the Anaplan hosting model, the classification rules that split hosting spend across the P&L, partnering with Accounting and tech accounting on audit readiness. You'll own the finance rhythm for admin hosting: monthly close, quarterly Outlooks and the annual AOP, including ProsperOps accruals and tracking, AWS and GCP invoice validation and monthly billing console reconciliations, reclasses, Anaplan actuals and BvA commentary. You'll build and maintain the queries and dashboards that answer FBPs', Procurement's and Group Leads' questions about why a service moved or what a new workload will cost. You'll partner with FinOps and Finance Data on tagging, mapping, vendor onboarding (as providers like Anthropic, OpenAI, FAL and G-Core land in the model) and anomaly detection. You'll prepare the models and scenario analysis that feed cloud hosting vendor renewal or new negotiation conversations, including commit sizing, break-even analysis and realised-benefit tracking. You'll use AI tools fluently in your daily workflow, and help design and run the hands-on modelling for chargeback pilot groups as Canva moves to distributed hosting cost accountability. You're probably a match ifWe're looking for someone who gets excited by data and finance in equal measure. You see a messy CUR and want to turn it into clean numbers people can rely on. You're the kind of person who catches the reconciliation break before anyone else notices, writes variance commentary a non-finance stakeholder actually understands, and uses AI tools fluently to raise the leverage of your work. You've operated in an FP&A function or similar before, so the rhythm of monthly close, quarterly forecasting and planning cycles feels familiar. On top of that, you'll bring:Strong data proficiency and daily comfort with a BI tool (Mode, Looker, Omni or similar). This role leans heavily into data and finance analysis.Strong modelling skills, especially driver based modelling for cloud hosting spend.Hands-on experience with large transactional datasets, ideally cloud cost or billing data (CUR, FinOps tooling).Working knowledge of AWS or GCP billing, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Capacity Blocks and Committed Use Discounts.Experience operating within an FP&A function or similar, used to the rhythm of monthly close, quarterly forecasting cadences, variance analysis and the planning cycles that come with it.Fluent use of AI tools for model building and daily analytical work.Clear written communication and attention to detail across invoices, accruals, reclasses and reconciliations.Experience with Anaplan (strongly preferred) or another enterprise planning tool (Adaptive, Pigment, Oracle EPM) is a plus.Any exposure to FinOps practices and tooling (ProsperOps, Vantage, native cloud cost tools), or chargeback/showback model design, is a bonus.About the teamFP&A is a force multiplier, accelerating Canva's journey on its 2-step plan!
