Senior Fullstack Engineer

Senior Fullstack Engineer – Internationalisation Platform

The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe. Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to welcome a billion customers.

Within Platform, the Internationalisation team makes Spotify feel local everywhere. We build the systems, tools, and frameworks that power language support, localization workflows, cultural adaptation, and global feature rollouts across more than 180 markets. Our work ensures that when Spotify launches something new, it resonates just as well in São Paulo as it does in Stockholm.

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who cares deeply about building scalable systems and seamless user experiences — and who understands that great internationalisation is both a technical and cultural challenge.

What You'll Do

Design, build, and evolve the platforms and services that power localization, translation workflows, and global content delivery across Spotify

Develop high-quality frontend and backend solutions that enable product teams to ship globally from day one

Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across missions to ensure internationalisation is embedded early in the development lifecycle

Improve developer experience by creating intuitive tooling, documentation, and self-serve frameworks

Drive technical direction for complex cross-platform initiatives that impact millions of users worldwide

Identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements in systems supporting global expansion

Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning

Who You Are

You have 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software as a fullstack engineer

You are experienced with modern frontend frameworks (such as React) and backend development (such as Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, or similar technologies)

You have a deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable service architecture

You know how to design systems with global scale, localization, and performance in mind

You care about developer experience and building tools that empower other engineers

You have worked in cross-functional environments and communicate complex ideas clearly

You demonstrate strong technical judgment and take ownership of outcomes

You care about building inclusive products that serve users across languages, regions, and cultures

Where You'll Be

This role is based in London or Stockholm

We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.

Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what’s playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It’s in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens.

At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we’re here to support you in any way we can.
