Chief Commercial Officer, Biotech

About the role

As Hippocratic AI's Chief Commercial Officer - Biotech, you will own our commercial growth in biotech and small-to-mid-sized pharma, getting safe, autonomous AI patient care to the launches that need it most. This role exists now because we are contracted with 7 of the top 20 pharma companies and are building a dedicated function to bring the same impact to the biotech ecosystem. We need a commercial leader who is well established in biotech and small/mid cap pharma executive teams. You build teams people want to join, and you understand the biotech commercial model in and out.

What you will do

Sales and revenue generation

• Own the revenue number for biotech and SMID pharma, and the account strategy, pipeline, and forecast behind it.
• Personally lead the first deals with founders, CEOs, and commercial, medical, access, and patient services leaders.
• Build and lead a high-performing sales and commercial team as the business scales, including hiring, coaching, and setting performance standards.

Relationships and market access

• Bring your network and relations: leverage your relationships with founders, CEOs, and commercial leaders at biotech and small-to-mid-sized pharma companies to build pipeline and shorten sales cycles.
• Be the face of Hippocratic AI at the key biotech and biopharma meetings.

Go-to-market strategy and market development

• Define how we go to market: target segments, pricing and packaging, and channels built for lean, launch-stage companies.
• Prioritize high-value use cases across the biotech lifecycle, including launch readiness, patient onboarding, adherence and persistence, clinical trial recruitment, and HCP education.
• Build clear commercial narratives and ROI frameworks for biotech buyers, covering faster launches, better patient starts and persistence, and lower cost than building in-house.

Customer success and account growth

• Partner with Customer Success to ensure smooth transitions from close to deployment and early wins that drive expansion and advocacy.
• Drive account expansion and retention across brands, pipeline assets, and indications as customers grow through launch and beyond.

Basic qualifications

• 15+ years of commercial experience in biotech, specialty pharma, or small-to-mid-sized pharma, including senior sales and commercial leadership roles.
• Demonstrated track record of personally closing deals with biotech and mid-sized pharma organizations, with verifiable revenue achievement.
• Trusted relationships at VP, SVP, and C-suite level across the sector.
• Experience selling technology, platform, or services solutions into biopharma.
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing sales and commercial teams in high-growth environments.
• Comfort in high-growth environments with limited structure and high expectations for ownership, urgency, and results.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience selling or deploying AI, digital health, SaaS, or data platforms into biopharma.
• Experience with biotech launch and commercial models, including patient services hubs and outsourced commercial infrastructure.
• Startup or early-stage experience scaling commercial functions from scratch.
