This summer intern will work on cutting-edge projects developing ML models for data-driven recommendations to support product advancement and placement decisions.As part of Syngenta's Emerging Talent Program, you will gain hands-on experience, exposure to day-to-day business operations, and opportunities to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while developing your professional skills.Estimated Duration:May 2027– August 2027AccountabilitiesCollaborate with data scientists on the product advancement and placement analytics team for research initiatives.Gather, transform, and process large structured and unstructured datasets for model training.Develop methodologies to integrate and analyze varied data types.Develop and validate different ML models for placement predictions.Document research findings, model limitations, and strategic recommendations for future development.QualificationsRequiredPhD candidate in data science, quantitative genetics, computer science or related field.Demonstrated experience in AI/ML model development and evaluation.Proven ability to handle large, complex datasets efficiently.Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) and other relevant languages.Hands-on experience with R&D data, such as genetic data, phenotypic trial data, or environmental data, etc.DesiredGood written and oral communication skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Strong analytical curiosity with ability to investigate complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.Additional InformationSalary for this position ranges between $20 - $45 hourly.What We Offer:A culture that celebrates belonging and collaboration, promotes professional development and strives for a work-life balance that supports the team members.⁠Competitive wages.Ongoing career development resources.The opportunity to work on meaningful, innovative projects that solve problems.Syngenta is committed to creating a culture that celebrates belonging and collaboration, promotes professional development, and strives for a work-life balance that supports the team membersSyngenta has been ranked as atop employerby Science Journal.
