Drilling Engineer (In-House Drilling Engineer)Full-timeCompany DescriptionThe Client is a global company that provides products, services, and solutions to both oil & gas and energy industryJob Description Well planning: Trajectory design based on reservoir targets and local constraints; Directional well planning for all anticipated directional wells; Directional Well Planning to include a Geodetic coordinates systems conversion application aswell as a Geomatic model updated on a regular basis, i.e. BGGM (to model local Earth MagneticField, Dip Angle, and Magnetic Declination); Directional Well Planning to include well positioning uncertainty calculation based on ISCWSAmodels; Directional Well Planning to include way-to-target functionalities for daily well trajectory followup; CANDIDATE to provide directional maps: i.e. Vertical Section view plot, Plane view plot. Thevertical directional map will allow projection of the well profile over unwrapped horizontaldeparture as opposed to a vertical section plan. Trajectory plots on request; Anti-collision calculations with existing wells while designing the trajectory; Prepare spider plots and travelling cylinders with no-go areas; Calculate Non-Magnetic spacing requirements to ensure surveys are within Field AcceptanceCriteria; Select and propose BHAs including BHA tendency analysis; Optimize the position of jars in the BHA with a proper dedicated jar placement software; Perform hydraulic simulations (expected ESD, ECD and SPP). Recommendations on bit nozzleselection or TFA; Run Torque and Drag analysis, including casing, liner and other requirements; Laise with multiple functions to ensure proper fitting between each BHA element (Jars,Reamers, etc.); Technical support and advice to the CLIENT drilling department on the optimum techniques torealize the objectives of the well; Recommend BHAs, drilling assemblies to achieve the desired directional requirements. Therecommendation shall include documented analysis of the predicted directional behavior,torque and drag, critical buckling, and hydraulics; Keep survey database up-to-date with the latest drilled wells surveys; Bit TFA calculation for Steerable Motor applications in order to "Thrust Balance" PDM motorbearing assembly for each application as a function of anticipated Flow Rate, Mud Weight andWOB; CANDIDATE shall use a BHA tendency predict model for planning, operational, and post-wellanalysis; CANDIDATE shall use a computer model to predict critical harmonic rotary speeds and reviewresults of such predictions with CLIENT and make recommendations to minimize the risks ofdownhole failures due to harmonic peaks; Recommendations to minimize well tortuosity must be provided; In a collision-risk environment, assist the Directional Driller on the rig site and solely focus on thewellpath realization and projection a minimum of 45 m ahead.REPORTING Trajectory plots on a daily basis showing realized versus planned trajectory; Validate, QC, and sign off final trajectory; QC data from MWD measurements and gyro measurements, if any; Provide the Directional Drilling Program and End-of-Well Report. Keep track of Lessons learned.Software familiarity:DOX, DrillPlan, Perform Toolkit ProCompass, WellPlanWellArchitect, JewelSuite Well EngineeringQualificationsExperience in the role 5-10 years in onshore /in-house drilling engineeringUniversity degree in Engineering/related fieldMust hasve the following Software familiarity:DOX, DrillPlan, Perform Toolkit ProCompass, WellPlanWellArchitect, JewelSuite Well EngineeringAdditional InformationThe position is open to Nigerian NationalsBy clicking the link above or any third-party link within this posting, you are leaving this site and going to a third-party website where the third-party website's terms and privacy policy applyI'm interestedI'm interestedPrivacy NoticeImprint
