Experienced Veterinary Assistant

Country View Veterinary Hospitalis seeking an experiencedVeterinary Assistantto join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is a great opportunity for a versatile Veterinary Assistant who enjoys variety and is happy to jump in wherever needed! You’ll help keep the day running smoothly by assisting in exam rooms, supporting patient care, communicating with clients, and stepping in at the front desk with tasks like answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking clients in and out. In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $19 - $20 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 2+ yearsofveterinary assistant required
• Proficiency in the following skills: Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperamentsClient communication and educationAbility to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient proceduresExperience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signsAbility to manage a multi-phone line system with assisting in-person clientsExperience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars
