Welcome to Bosch.Job DescriptionAs anExpert Cost Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping competitive, sustainable, and profitable automotive products. By analyzing product costs, manufacturing technologies, and carbon footprint impacts, you will support engineering, purchasing, and business teams with data-driven insights that influence product development, sourcing strategies, and cost optimization initiatives.Your tasks:► Performing detailed cost analyses of components, tooling and manufacturing processes across various technologies and material groups► Identifying and evaluating cost-saving opportunities through design improvements, material selection and manufacturing optimization► Supporting Design-to-Cost (D2C) activities by providing value-based engineering recommendations throughout the product development lifecycle► Managing Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations and identifying opportunities to improve product sustainability and reduce CO₂ emissions► Supporting the generation and evaluation of RPP initiatives in cooperation with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing teams► Providing technical cost breakdowns and manufacturing expertise to support sourcing activities and supplier negotiations► Performing should-cost analyses, competitor benchmarking and sales price evaluations to improve cost transparency and competitiveness► Contributing to the continuous development of cost engineering methodologies, tools and knowledge sharing across the organizationQualifications► University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field► Several years of experience in Cost Engineering, Product Cost Management, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar technical role► Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, production processes and material cost structures► Experience with Design-to-Cost methodologies and value engineering principles► Knowledge of product cost calculations, should-cost analysis and cost optimization techniques► Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills► Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment► Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)What gives you further advantages:► Experience in the automotive industry► Knowledge of Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations or sustainability-related topics► Experience supporting sourcing activities and supplier negotiations► German language skillsAdditional InformationGet to know our #LikeABosch benefits.We would like to help youGROW, so we offer you:Financial security & recognition:We review and increase your competitive base salary annually, offer performance-, loyalty-, and referral bonus.Trainings and professional development:We believe in a Life-Long Learning approach, so you can take advantage of several technical and soft skill trainings and language courses.Career development: We have a wide range of programs to choose from, even if its leadership, expert or project development you are aiming for.
