About GAMURS Group
GAMURS Group is one of the largest independent gaming and entertainment media networks in the world. We own and operate 14 publications — including Destructoid, Pro Game Guides, Twinfinite, Siliconera, We Got This Covered, and The Mary Sue — reaching 30 million monthly readers. Our GAMURS Pulse first-party data platform lets brand partners reach precisely defined gaming audience segments, from cozy gamers to esports fans to lapsed franchise players.
We work with game publishers, peripheral brands, and entertainment companies to build campaigns that reach the right players at the right moment — through custom editorial, display, newsletters, social, and video.
The Role
This is a hands-on commercial finance position sitting at the intersection of financial planning and business performance. You will build and maintain our financial model, coordinate budgets and forecasts, and work closely with business leaders to understand what drives revenue, costs and profitability across our divisions.
The common thread is the ability to turn financial and operational data into clear, practical decisions. You will look beyond the numbers to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and help teams improve productivity, allocate resources and grow margins across our digital media business.
What we are looking for :
- Build and maintain our financial model. Create a model grounded in the business’s key revenue and cost drivers to support annual budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario planning.
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting. Work with business leaders to develop assumptions, challenge inputs and translate plans into financial targets.
- Develop business division P&Ls. Establish consistent revenue and cost allocations, track profitability and explain performance against budget and forecast.
- Analyse revenue performance. Identify trends, risks and opportunities across programmatic advertising, social media, direct sales, syndication and our upcoming subscription offering.
- Measure productivity and efficiency. Partner with team leaders to develop meaningful metrics linking costs and resources to output, quality and commercial results.
- Turn analysis into action. Deliver clear reporting and practical recommendations to improve margins, allocate resources and assess new initiatives.
- Connect financial and operational data. Work with our external accounting team, third party reporting tools and internal stakeholders to keep models and reporting accurate, consistent and useful.
What you bring :
- 3+ years’ experience in FP&A, commercial finance or financial modelling , including ownership of budgets and forecasts.
- Experience building financial models from the ground up , linking revenue and cost assumptions to business performance—not just updating existing templates.
- Strong management reporting and profitability analysis skills , including business division P&Ls, cost allocations and explaining variances against budget.
- A commercial mindset , with experience translating financial and operational data into recommendations on productivity, spending and growth.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills , with the ability to build models that are accurate, easy to maintain and clear for others to use.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills , including confidence working with international teams, challenging assumptions and presenting findings to non-finance colleagues.
- An independent, hands-on approach , comfortable bringing structure to incomplete data and managing competing priorities.
