Join us.Job DescriptionAs aGraduate Highway Engineer, you’ll be supported by experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring as you develop your technical knowledge and professional skills. You’ll work on live projects and receive structured training to help you build a strong foundation in highway engineering and infrastructure design.Your initial responsibilities will typically include supporting the development of highway designs and technical solutions through different project stages, attending site visits, meetings and workshops, and working collaboratively with clients and other design professionals.You’ll receive training in relevant engineering, design and digital engineering software, which may include AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other highway design and modelling software, depending on project requirements. You’ll also develop your understanding of digital engineering and BIM processes and how these are applied to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects.As your experience and confidence grow, you’ll take on increasing responsibility for project tasks and technical deliverables, with opportunities to contribute to projects from inception through to completion.You may gain experience across a variety of projects, including:Highway and road designGeometric alignment and highway layout designJunction and intersection designUrban and rural highway schemesActive travel and cycle infrastructureBus priority and public transport infrastructureRoad drainage and associated infrastructureEarthworks and highway infrastructurePavement design and maintenanceTraffic management and temporary worksRoad safety and highway assessmentsFeasibility studies and options developmentDevelopment of technical drawings, reports and specificationsConstruction-stage support and site inspectionsMultidisciplinary infrastructure and transportation projectsOur Highway Engineering graduates also have opportunities to work alongside ourTraffic Engineering and Transportation teamson major infrastructure projects.
