This position focuses on the processing of accounts receivable and staff accountant functions through the utilization of accounting software. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to investigate and resolve AR & Accounting issues as they arise. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts receivable. Compiles, classifies, records, verifies, and maintains data in the general ledger. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.Job DescriptionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess customer invoices, apply payments, monitor aging, and support collections efforts.Review freight invoices for accuracy, validate charges against contracts or shipping records, and resolve discrepancies with carriers or internal teams.Compiles and prepares entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactionsAssist the Accountant with journal entries and entry into the accounting softwarePerform labor transaction adjustments or other adjustments in the accounting softwareIssue inventory cycle counts, reconcile variances, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.Maintain the fixed asset subledger, record additions/disposals, calculate depreciation, and support asset audits.Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limitsMonitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company proceduresReviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reportsDevises and implements system for general accountingMakes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expendituresPrepares analysis and summaries of accountsAssist in monthly and annual closingsProficiency with Excel and accounting systemsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on timeOther duties may be assigned as neededQualificationsEducation, Certifications, Licenses, & RegistrationsBachelor’s Degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional InformationBenefits401(k)Medical, Dental & Vision insuranceEmployee assistance program (EAP)Flexible spending account (FSA)Health savings account (HSA)Paid time offTuition ReimbursementWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
