About the role:
We are looking for a Mid/Senior Software Engineer who will be the hands-on advocate of AI within the team. You won't just talk about AI-assisted development. You'll lead by example, using AI coding agents every day and showing your teammates how to get real value from them.
Our product landscape spans modern applications built with C# and .NET and long-lived systems in COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro and WinDev that still run critical business processes for our customers. In this role you’ll work across both, and we use AI agents throughout to work faster and smarter.
That means building features and shaping architecture on the modern stack, and equally using AI to understand, document, maintain and modernize decades-old codebases. Often the most interesting work is where the two meet: bringing legacy logic into modern architectures.
You might come from a .NET background or from one of these older technologies; either is a good starting point. Prior experience with the legacy stack is a plus but not required. What we do need is genuine willingness to work on both, curiosity to dig into unfamiliar code, and the creativity to use AI agents to make sense of it and move it forward. If you’re only looking to work on modern technologies, this probably isn’t the right fit.
Your Responsibilities
AI Advocacy
- Lead by example in the daily use of AI coding agents (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) across development, testing, documentation and code review.
- Configure and maintain agent setups for the team: rules, instructions, prompt libraries, context files and reusable workflows.
- Share what works: run demos, pair-programming sessions and short internal workshops, and help teammates build confidence with AI tools.
- Identify repetitive tasks that can be accelerated with agentic approaches and propose practical improvements.
- Keep an eye on the AI tooling landscape and bring relevant, pragmatic ideas back to the team.
Modern and Legacy Systems
- Develop, maintain and evolve applications across our full landscape, from C# and .NET to older technologies such as COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro and WinDev, including bug fixing, new features and ongoing improvements.
- Use AI agents throughout your work to write, review and test code, and to analyze, document and explain legacy code, business rules and data flows.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives, helping plan and execute migrations from legacy systems to modern architectures and making sure business logic carries over correctly.
- Help shape the design and architecture of our modern stack so it’s ready to absorb what’s being modernized.
- Build and maintain a shared knowledge base so expertise in both legacy and modern systems is spread across the team rather than held by a few people.
Development & Quality
- Design, develop and maintain features across backend and frontend applications.
- Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles and good architectural practices.
- Take part in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments to build and deploy your work.
Collaboration
- Work closely with product, QA, DevOps and other engineering teams.
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers, especially in AI-assisted development practices.
What We're Looking For:
Must have
- 4 to 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Proven hands-on, day-to-day experience with AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code, including configuration and rule/instruction management.
- Experience building agentic workflows, MCP servers or custom AI tooling.
- Genuine openness and willingness to work with legacy technologies
(COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, WinDev).
- Solid experience with at least one modern stack, ideally C# / .NET and/or React / TypeScript / JavaScript.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Practical experience writing automated tests (unit, integration and/or endto-end).
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.
Nice to have
- Previous experience with any of COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro or WinDev.
- Experience in legacy modernization or migration projects.
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP) and Docker.
- Experience with testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress or Newman.
Languages
- Fluent in English (mandatory).
- French and/or Spanish is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills
- Curiosity and a learning mindset: you enjoy figuring out how things work, old or new.
- Natural ability to share knowledge and bring others along, without being dogmatic.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
- Ownership: you drive initiatives to completion.
Our Recruitment Process:
- 15-minute introductory call with our Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Meeting with Hiring Manager
- Technical interview, including a conversation about how you use AI agents
