Senior IT Engineer

About Turing

Turing’s mission is to accelerate superintelligence to drive real economic progress. Headquartered in San Francisco, Turing works with frontier AI labs to generate high-quality datasets, reinforcement learning environments, and frontier research benchmarks that improve model capabilities in software engineering, enterprise knowledge work, and advanced STEM reasoning. In software engineering, Turing is the largest and longest-running data provider in the category. Turing also works with Fortune 500 enterprises across financial services, life sciences, healthcare, retail, automotive, and CPG to build and deploy end-to-end agentic AI systems inside mission-critical workflows. By operating on both sides, Turing closes the loop between frontier research and enterprise deployment, turning real-world deployment signals into better data, evaluations, and more capable models. Senior IT Engineer

Join Turing's IT team as a Senior IT Engineer , building and running the systems that keep the company productive and secure — identity, devices, SaaS applications, and the automation that ties them together.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who treats IT as an engineering discipline: automating instead of clicking, building self-service instead of ticket queues, and partnering closely with security to make the secure path the easy path. You'll own core corporate infrastructure, drive automation across the employee lifecycle, and be the technical backbone that lets the rest of the company work smoothly.

What You'll Work On

  • Own identity and access: Administer our identity platform (SSO, MFA, provisioning) and integrate it across our SaaS estate, including access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews.
  • Manage the device fleet: Own macOS, Windows, and Linux devices via MDM — imaging, configuration, patching, and compliance.
  • Automate the employee lifecycle: Build automation for onboarding, offboarding, and access management, reducing manual IT toil across the board.
  • Administer and integrate SaaS applications: Own core SaaS tools and build automation and integrations across them, often via APIs and scripting.
  • Partner on security: Work closely with the security team on corporate security controls, endpoint hardening, and least-privilege access.
  • Build internal tooling: Design self-service workflows that reduce dependency on ticket queues and manual intervention.
  • Drive reliability: Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and endpoint issues, and improve monitoring and observability across corporate systems.
  • Document and mentor: Keep systems well documented, and mentor other members of the IT team.

What We're Looking For

  • We expect this level of expertise to be consistent with 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace) and MDM tooling .
  • Experience administering and integrating SaaS applications at scale.
  • Solid scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar) — you automate repetitive work rather than repeat it manually.
  • Security-minded, with experience implementing corporate security controls .
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a service-oriented mindset .

Bonus Points

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with zero-trust access and modern corporate security architecture.
  • Experience supporting a fast-growing, remote-friendly workforce.
  • Relevant certifications.

What Success Looks Like

First few months: You'll own key corporate systems, have automated meaningful chunks of the employee lifecycle, and be a trusted partner to both employees and the security team.
