At Zyte, we don’t just extract web data—we tackle some of the internet’s trickiest data collection challenges at a massive scale. We’re a globally distributed team of bold, curious problem-solvers dedicated to delivering clean, reliable web data wherever it’s needed.
When Zyte API fetches web data, it works through a progressive ladder of routes: standard HTTP requests, headless browsers, and, for the toughest sites, Edge—our custom residential network of real physical devices. Edge is our heavy hitter when all else fails. It runs a Rust peer runtime on residential Windows PCs that long-polls our command-and-control service over mTLS gRPC, making fetches look indistinguishable from real human traffic using genuine hardware, residential IPs, and seamless fingerprints.
Our Edge Platform squad manages both the control plane and data plane of this stack. Right now, we’re expanding from Windows into Android devices on mobile networks and self-hosted Linux (with macOS on the horizon). Mobile is where our biggest opportunity lies: websites that block desktop traffic often welcome a real mobile phone on a 4G connection. That’s where you come in! You’ll be the lead engineer making our peer run smoothly and invisibly across every platform—binding Rust to native network stacks and OS APIs via FFI, and turning scattered devices into a well-oiled, observable fleet. We’re a lean, senior team, so you’ll collaborate closely with our Team Lead, Principal Engineer, and the Browser Stack and Antiban squads.
