They are entering a new phase of growth in their Venture Capital activity, and are looking for a Venture Capital Analyst to strengthen the investment team in Barcelona .
Mission:
As a Venture Capital Analyst , you will play a key role across the entire investment cycle , from finding and analysing new opportunities to monitoring the portfolio and reporting to investors.
You will join a small, senior team with no intermediate layers . That means real responsibility from day one , direct contact with top-tier VC managers on both sides of the Atlantic, and a clear path to grow as the activity scales.
The Role:
Investing
- Identifying andmapping VC funds and managersin Europe and the US, with a focus onearly-stage technology
- Carrying outdue diligence on fund managers: strategy, team, track record and terms
- Preparinginvestment memosand presenting recommendations to theInvestment Committee
- Supporting the team innegotiating and closingnew commitments
Portfolio Management & Monitoring
- Tracking the portfolio:capital calls, distributions, valuations and capital accounts
- Building and updatingportfolio models and key metrics(TVPI, DPI, MOIC, IRR, cash-flow forecasts)
- Analysing theunderlying startupswithin the portfolio
- Managing and getting value from internaldata on funds, managers and companies
Reporting
- Preparingregular investor reports
- Creating analysis and presentations forsenior leadership
What we need:
- 2–4 yearsinVenture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Transaction Services, Strategy Consultingor a finance role in a startup
- Degree inBusiness, Economics, Engineering, Mathematicsor a related field
- Advanced Excel skills: financial modelling, large datasets and building modelsfrom scratch
- Hands-on use of AI toolsin your daily work to automate analysis, extract data from documents and speed up research
- Fluent Spanish and English, since English is used daily with international fund managers
- Analytical mindset, rigour and attention to detail
- Autonomy, organisation and aproactive, builder attitude
- Realpassion for technology, startups and Venture Capital
- Availability to work on-sitein Barcelona
