👩💻 The Role
Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire this role does require that you are based within UTC - 3 / + 5.
Oyster is looking for a high-performing Senior Compliance Analyst to join the Governance Risk & Compliance Team, who can assist in keeping up with the demands of a growing global HR/tech company. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the day-to-day internal audit for compliance controls management for Oyster, among other responsibilities, all of which will require critical thinking, innovation, and integrity.
Being a fully distributed company, the Senior Compliance Analyst will work synchronously and asynchronously with team members all over the world. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong multi-task skills, high energy, a positive attitude, and no camera shyness.
Reporting to the GRC Lead, the Senior Compliance Specialist will be responsible for, among other duties, the following.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes, policies, and scenarios to identify compliance and operational risks within the organization.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures.
- Support on corporate compliance projects such as ESG / Sustainability initiatives, BCorp certification, Enterprise Risk Management, audit trails, and corporate reporting.
- Collaborate actively across different departments.
- Manage the whistleblower channel and organize documentation for investigations.
- Prepare corporate documentation, track KPIs, and participate in due diligence processes.
- Lead internal audit and control monitoring efforts, coordinating with other departments.
- Implement AI solutions and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Promote compliance awareness by conducting corporate compliance training and providing ethics guidance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships within the Legal department and with cross-functional teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in law, business, economics, or a related field
- 4-6 years experience in compliance, risk management or legal/finance functions;
- Experienced in program and project management and strategic planning process including requirements definition and drafting risk assessment;
- Experienced in managing goals, metrics, and executive-level reporting
- Able to organize and influence a team to achieve objectives and targets
- Experienced async and sync communicator working with and obtaining buy-in from fully distributed teams
- Driven by the social impact mission and desire to use skills to influence global change and employment opportunities.
- First-class attention to detail and reasoning with extreme organization and a proven work ethic and excellent communication skills.
- Open-minded about doing things differently from how they have typically been done before.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, determination, and tenacity, along with a positive and collaborative attitude.

- [BONUS] Proficient in Google Suite of products (Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets).
- [BONUS] Familiarity with a client relationship management system (such as Zendesk, Salesforce, ServiceNow) and Whistleblowing tool.
- [BONUS] Previous experience working in Notion and Asana.
- [BONUS] Familiarity with global compliance frameworks across the EU or US , within multinational environments. (such as criminal risk prevention, whistleblowing directive, anti-corruption)
