Technical Writer

About the role:

​

The Technical Writer will be a core member of guardsix's lean, execution-focused documentation team, responsible for independently owning and delivering high-quality technical content across assigned product areas. Working closely with PMs and Engineers, this role ensures guardsix's SIEM, NDR, SOAR, and UEBA solutions are accurately documented and accessible to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on role where technical curiosity, initiative, and content quality are the primary drivers of success.

You will work from our beautiful office in Nepal, Kathmandu and report directly into our: Group Manager, Product Operations.

Key Responsibilities

​

• Product Documentation Ownership : Own end-to-end documentation for guardsix products, including user guides, release notes, and integration docs
• Cross-functional Collaboration : Work directly with PMs and engineers to extract and translate technical knowledge into clear content
• Content Quality & Standards: Maintain documentation quality standards set by the Documentation Lead
• Tooling & Process Contribution : Actively contribute to GitBook workflows and AI-augmented documentation practices
• Gap Identification & Initiative : Proactively identify documentation gaps and act without waiting to be directed

Competencies / Requirements

​

Professional/Technical Skills

​

• Proficiency in GitBook, Confluence, or similar documentation tools
• Familiarity with Markdown, structured authoring, and version-controlled content
• Ability to document complex technical concepts clearly
• Cybersecurity documentation experience strongly desired — SIEM, NDR, SOAR, or UEBA knowledge is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with AI writing tools and their practical application

Leadership / Soft Skills

​

• Self-starter who identifies gaps and acts without being directed
• Strong cross-functional communication with engineers and PMs
• Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, product-led environment
• Collaborative team player who contributes to shared standards

Experience & Background

​

• 3+ years of technical writing experience in IT industry, preferably in SaaS or cybersecurity
• Demonstrated history of owning documentation end-to-end for a product area
• Track record of bringing new initiatives — better tooling, improved structure, proactive gap-finding
• Experience working in distributed, cross-functional teams
